‘Be careful’

My eyes warn you

In clear blue and broken

For there’s only so long

Before the sea pulls from the shore

And comes crashing back

Giving a false sense of peace

As she prepares to lash out

At the people who sully

And destroy her

For their own comfort

Their own pleasure

Not caring for the angry waves

Or the dark depths

That no man will ever see

Until it’s too late
